Eric Hobbs receives $1,000
Walton Community Scholarship
The Sam Walton Community Scholarship is funded by the Wal-Mart/Sams Club Foundation and given annually by every Wal-Mart and Sams Club across the country. The award can be applied to tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board. This year each location can award two Sam Walton Community Scholarships, totaling more than $6.5 million, to deserving students in Wal-Mart and Sams Club communities. Since 1979, Wal-Mart has presented more than $80 million in community scholarships. Sams Club recognizes that the education of our youth today has a profound impact on the vitality of our communities tomorrow, said the Sams Club manager Cory Asleson. Its with that in mind that Wal-Mart invests in the future success of this community through Eric Hobbs. Managed by a scholarship administration service, an independent committee of qualified educators selects the Sam Walton Community Scholarship winners. Beginning each December, graduating high school seniors can receive a scholarship application from their high school counselor or local Wal-Mart or Sams Club location. |
