The Salmon‐Challis National Forest in partnership with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and Lemhi County will be submitting a grant application to the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) to partially fund the Williams Lake Boat Ramp Project. The Waterways Improvement Fund grant application will seek funds to upgrade existing infrastructure at the lake. These upgrades will improve visitor experience, safety and accessibility for the lake’s users.

The proposed infrastructure upgrades will include replacing the existing separate blocks that form the bottom of the boat ramp with a single or two-part slab, replacing the existing docks with new and longer docks next to the ramp, adding new fishing docks to be anchored off the existing concreate walk (east of the boat ramp), completing repair and maintenance on the existing handicap trail and chip sealing the access roads and parking area.

As per IDPR grant requirements, the Salmon-Challis National Forest is requesting letters of support for this project. Letters of support or other comments or questions regarding this project can be directed to Larry Vogel at levogel@fs.fed.us or (208) 865-2700.
