They played well all year, scoring 19 wins in 28 games, but district competition left them wanting.

The Lady Vikings started their bid for a berth at state earlier this month and stumbled in the first game against Grace but came back the following week to win 53-38. Last Thursday they played well but “had trouble making baskets,” according to coach Jim Chamberlain, and lost, leaving them without a chance at state.

Chamberlain said they had a good season nonetheless, the girls played hard and Kacie Hewitt, Laura Parkinson and JoAnna Campbell “really stepped up this season.”
