After a demoralizing run against Grace Tuesday, February 16, the Challis Vikings played their district opponents at home February 18. It was a close game throughout with a lot of back and forth between the Vikings and Grizzlies, but a couple of technical calls in the fourth quarter gave the advantage to the Grizzlies, who won 64-51. This ended the Vikings’ bid for state competition. Will Millick scored 14 points, and Tristan Stillwaugh made 12 for the team.

Coach Jerrod Farr said the Vikings competed well throughout the season, with an 11-11 record, and even when they lost, it was with 2 to 4 point margins. Grace has consistently been the stiffest opposition.

It’s a young team, Farr said, with three juniors and seven sophomores returning, giving the Vikings great prospects for next year.
