Following Easter weekend the Challis Public Library began renovations. Thanks to the Steele Reese Foundation, the library is getting a much-needed update. The renovation and packing of books is anticipated to flow as outlined below.

If you have a particular author or book you would like us to keep out for circulation, we are happy to leave them out for anyone.

BOXES NEEDED! If you have medium-sized sturdy boxes you would like to donate, or extra muscles to help us box and move books, you are welcome to let us know during open hours.

Important dates

Week of April 9: Scheduled to store Children’s Nonfiction, Adult Nonfiction 900 series.

Week of April 16: The library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. New windows will be installed in children’s section! Scheduled to store Idaho selections, Adult 800s to 0001.44, Jr. and Children’s Fiction.

Week of April 23: Scheduled to store Easy Readers, Adult Mystery, Western, Science Fiction and Large Print. Remaining books in all sections will be boxed up in preparation for new carpet and painting.

Week of April 30 to May 16: Library will be closed for construction with projected reopen date, contingent on unforeseen delays, of May 16.
