Crossing the road

A small part of the Challis town deer herd crosses Seventh Street on a recent day. Perhaps they were headed to the pile of leaves in the nearby yard.

White snow and Blue Mountain

A light dusting of snow in Challis made for a semi-white Christmas. Blue Mountain appears in the background of this country-looking scene inside city limits. Temperatures warmed considerably into the 40s between Christmas and New Year’s, making it comfortable enough for some people to go around in T-shirts.
