Mountain Transitions

Fog and drizzle mixed with wet snow can make short December days seem gloomy and chill. Old snow melts slowly here in the valley, but maybe heavy snow is falling in the cloud-shrouded mountains. The view is toward the Lost River Range.

Locals receive awards from state soil conservation district

Posters by Ali Rembelski, Wiley Turek, and Katie Auwen (l-r) won the first three places in the Custer Soil and Water Conservation District’s contest in October. All three advanced to the state Division VI level, where Ali’s placed third, taking it to the state level where it won first.

Local soil conservation district staff Karma Bragg and Tammy Rice attended the annual meeting of the Idaho Association of Soil Conservation Districts (IASCD) in Pocatello, Idaho, November 15-17.
