Heartfelt

Challis Elementary School kindergarten students Cedar Webster, Bella Evans, Cyzer Zollinger, Braden Harwood and Avena Parker put their hands on their hearts for the national anthem at the annual all-school veterans assembly in the Challis Jr.-Sr. High School gym. The traditional program featured tributes to area veterans, including a flag ceremony, patriotic music by the high school band and choir, a slide show with photos of Challis area veterans, summaries of America’s wars and handshakes or hugs from each student for every veteran. Three events commemorated Veterans Day over two days last week. See more photos inside.

The sun shone on Veterans Day observances in Challis last week, with three unifying events spread over two days.
