Fall bounty

Challis matriarch Madge Yacomella and Julie Rodman check on the food line just prior to the annual Challis Community Church Harvest Dinner last week. Yacomella took over as head cook and organizer from Helen Winegarner this year, while Rodman has been one of the principal servers. About 135 people were served, Yacomella said. All food was donated by the community and leftovers went to the Challis Senior Citizens Center. Joan “Mama Jo” Okura, below, washes a strainer. See more photos inside.
