NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGE TO WATER RIGHTS

CITY OF CHALLIS, PO BOX 587; CHALLIS ID 83226 has filed Application No. 76186 for changes to water rights within CUSTER County. The purpose of the transfer is to change the place and nature of use for a portion of rights 72-110B & 72-111B. Application proposes to change the place of use of 3 acres at the City of Challis Golf Course, located on the west side of the city, to irrigate a new driving range. The applicant also proposes to dry up 2 acres & 0.03 cfs to allow for an aesthetic stream within the golf course as well as providing an additional fill of a pond, located just east of the golf course, as authorized by Water Permit No. 72-7559. Protests may be submitted based on the criteria of Idaho Code Sec. 42-222. Any protest against a proposed change must be filed with the Department of Water Resources, Southern Region, 1341 Fillmore St, Suite 200, Twin Falls ID 83301 together with a protest fee of $25.00 on or before August 9, 2010. The protestant must also send a copy of the protest to the applicant.
