‘Music Man’ Jack Hardy finishes tenth season

Jack Hardy, in the white shirt second from left, leads fellow musicians including his wife, Eileen, and son Travis in the grand finale to his 10th season of producing Music in the Park for Challis Area Chamber of Commerce on Aug. 31. City of Challis officials presented him with a plaque to honor his decade of providing summer music. Local musicians who had played throughout the summer joined him in what may be Jack’s final season as soundman, producer and organizer of the popular event.

Jack Hardy, Challis’ own Music Man, last week wrapped up his tenth season of being soundman, producer and master of ceremonies for Music in the Park.

Good Old Days of Custer County

Caught in the act of trespass by Pat Axline’s camera, the Challis Creek bear peers down at its human neighbors from a tree in the Axlines’ yard. Visiting Challis creek residents for almost a month, the bear may have tired of being treed all the time and moved on to less urban berry patches.
