Kenneth Ray "Ken" Johnson
Kenneth Ray 'Ken' Johnson, 66, of Jerome and formerly of Challis, passed away Thursday April 24, 2014, at his home.

He was born September 12, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the son of Chester Arnold Johnson and Elizabeth Jennings Johnson. The family settled in Twin Falls where Ken graduated from high school in 1965.

He married Katherine Thomas on June 5, 1965.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam war. Following an Honorable Discharge, they settled in the Magic Valley, where they raised two children.

Ken spent most of his working life as a heavy equipment operator. He and Kathy also owned and operated the Custer Saloon in Challis. Ken loved fishing, horseback riding and camping. He also enjoyed riding four wheelers.

Ken is survived by his wife of 49 years, Katherine Johnson of Jerome; their children, Barbara Johnson of Hansen and Chet Johnson of Jerome; two grandchildren, Courtney (Travis) Eudey and Kadyn Johnson; his great-granddaughter, Lillian; his mother, Elizabeth Johnson; four sisters, Juanita Rarick, Betty (Monte) Stoppello, Shirley (Gene) Schaeffer and Bonnie (John) Knapple; his brother-in-law, Bill Thomas; and many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and his brother-in-law, Robert Thomas.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday May 3, 2014, at Farnsworth Mortuary Chapel, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome.
