Kenneth L. Mehrtens

Kenneth L. (Bush) Mehrtens was born August 17, 1942 in California. Ken passed away December 24, 2013 at the University of Utah hospital. He leaves behind two sons, Anthony of Hawaii and Chris of California.

Ken’s profession was landscaping, hence the nickname “The Bush Doctor.” He lived in Oregon until the early 1980s when he moved to Idaho, eventually making his permanent home in Challis.

He was a good man, always wanting to lend a hand, tell you a good joke or story and always stood up for what he believed. He enjoyed fishing, hiking the great outdoors and creating and building landscapes for his clients to enjoy.

He will be missed by all who knew him. A gathering of friends and family will be held at Bux’s Place in the spring when his family can make the trip to Challis.
